Gran Turismo 7 Delayed Into 2022

Sony has confirmed that, following pandemic-related development issues, the next instalment in the PlayStation-exclusive racing sim series, Gran Turismo 7, is now set for release in 2021. First revealed in 2020 at the announcement of "The Future of Gaming" by Sony, Gran Turismo 7 was postponed to 2022. From Polyphony Digital, a Japanese studio, the game is a follow-up to Gran Turismo 6, which was released in 2013. The last Gran Turismo title, Gran Turismo Sport, was released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 by Polyphohy Digital.

In a statement provided to British GQ and confirmed to IGN, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan wrote: "GT7 has been impacted by COVID-19-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it's a dynamic and changing situation, and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We'll share more specifics on GT7's release date when available."
